Comparison with Black silicon carbide:
Green silicon carbide is manufactured basically in the same way as the black silicon carbide, but there are some differences between them.
Green silicon carbide is made from quartz sand, petroleum coke and salt as additive, while salt is not needed in manufacture of Black silicon carbide.
Green silicon carbide's semi-transparent in green color with friability, while black silicon carbide's Non-transparent in black color.
Green silicon carbide has higher hardness than Black silicon carbide.
The purity of SiC in Green silicon carbide is higher than it in Black silicon carbide.
Applications:
Green silicon carbide has large range of application.
Green silicon carbide is suitable to process hard metal alloys and non-metallic materials which are hard and brittle like jewels, optical glass or ceramics.
The sharp cutting characteristics help Green silicon carbide to have good performance to process soft materials such as copper, brass, aluminium, or magnesium.
Green silicon carbide abrasive is used as vitrified wheels and belts, sandpaper, organic wheels, sheets, ceramic body armor, advanced ceramics, and other ceramic wear parts. Super micropowder from Green silicon carbide can be used as raw material for a special ceramic. Green silicon carbide powder is commonly utilized for heavy duty grinding, polishing, and lapping procedures, impeller of hydraulic turbine and the inner wall of cylinder, which can improve the wear resistance and service life for one or two times.
Refractory industry.
Green silicon carbide is extensively used in abrasives, electronics, military aviation, steel making, oxidation resistance agent.
The green silicon carbide powder ideal for the purpose of cutting monocrystalline and polycrystalline as well as Glass and quartz
It is also used for by semiconductor, aerospace and solar energy photovoltaic industries l applications
